Curriculum
Below you will find your child's year group curriculum information page. These documents outline the headline themes in each curriculum area for the year group. We hope this gives you an overview of what your child will be studying so that you can continue to support your child’s learning outside of the classroom.
We have a broad and balanced curriculum which is valued and varied. All curriculum areas are important and we believe should be celebrated. We are currently developing our curriculum so that we focus on the progression of knowledge, skills and vocabulary. We are also placing emphasis on our ‘character curriculum’ through our ‘Route to Resilience’ work. We want ALL children to leave our school being secondary ready as well as having the key life skills needed in our ever changing world.
Reading and Phonics Schemes
In the Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, Letters and sounds is used for the daily phonics sessions. Our Key Stage One and Two reading books are colour banded and the children cover a variety of genres in each band, including non - fiction. We try to promote a love of reading throughout the school, modelling reading whenever we can.
We hope you find this information informative and as ever, please contact your child’s class teacher if you require any further information.
